Al Wabra Wildlife Preservation

Al Wabra Wildlife Preservation is a private wildlife collection powered by Sheikh Saoud Bin Mohammed Bin Ali Al Thani's passion for nature.

Situated in Qatar and dedicated to the breeding of endangered wild animal species, an international team of expert vets, biologists and keepers is dedicated to the care and conservation of rare and endangered species from the Arabian Peninsula, the Horn of Africa, Latin America and South East Asia-Pacific areas.

"Our team of three veterinarians and one veterinary nurse takes care of the health and welfare of more than 2000 animals of 90 different species of mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians. The animals we treat on a normal day may range from a 10 g Poison Dart Frog or 50 g King Bird of Paradise to a 250 kg Nilgai.

We use our X-ray equipment almost every day as a part of our periodical health check protocols and of course as a diagnostic tool for a wide variety of clinical cases. We deal with wild species that are very prone to suffer from stress and may create dangerous situations. For these reasons we need versatile and reliable X-ray equipment that we can use in the surgery room and in the field. Recently one of our Cheetah joungsters broke her femur and our GIERTH HF 100 plus was an invaluable tool for diagnsotic and prognostic of the fracture.

We have been working for many years with GIERTH X-Ray international and the few problems we have experienced have been quickly dealt by their customer service. As we are located in a remote area in the Middle East there is no reliable and professional technical service available for us here. Nevertheless the company has always been readily available by phone or email to help us solve any problems in the easiest way."
